That's crazy. Evo's are moving up on the hit list now. It used to NEVER be an issue. Good luck man. Best wishes.

Sorry to hear about your car being stolen. It's amazing that people feel they can take what someone else has worked for. Best of luck with the recovery!

Wasn't there a chop shop in the Chicago area that was using stolen evos and stolen parts? I think the shop got shut down, but maybe one of his buddies that didn't get caught?

That seriously sucks though, I hope you get it back in one piece. I don't live in the city anymore, but if I ever go visit friends or family in Boston I always take a different car. I don't dare drive my car and park it down there.

Chicago and stolen evos....no surprise there. You could of done this or could of done that....you could just move from the ******* of the country. Just saying they are determined crooks and will get what they want. You wont get it back either....maybe get some back in a trash bag or something. Start looking for another one and be more dilligent in protection.

Seems a little contradictory, but I get what you're saying.

It's pretty concerning living in Michigan with all of the Evo thefts in Chicago and Indiana. Usually the only cars that get targeted out this way are Hondas. I never had to worry too much about my 240SX, but now I am for sure concerned about the Evo.

It more or less dependent on the area I think. Seattle isn't too bad, although you still have some shady people.

Yeah, location seems to have a ton to do with it. I had no idea the Evo theft in Chicago was so bad until I started looking into buying one for myself. I bought mine from a town about an hour outside the city last week. My brother lives downtown and I was planning to take the car out to visit him, but I'm a little worried about doing that now.

How are they stealing them?

Flat bed or just busting a window and doing w/e they do to get it started?

Could you imagine catching one of these POS in action?

I remember back in the day in my town a dealership got stolen and they took an evo 8. I called the dealership to check on the price and they said it got stolen a few days back. some people are just stealing them and parting out the motors and tranny.
