Hell evo members
I have been doing alot of reading about the evo since i got it about 8 months ago but couldnt find the anwsers i need, when i bought the car it came with 3 gauges volts, oil pressure and boost all 3 were working right and the all of the sudden the oil pressure gauge stopped working the needle points to the max psi idk know how to fix this, and then the volts gauge started to go crazy from 8 to 18 volts just back and forth like crazy, i was looking at the fuses and its hooked up to the cigarret lighter fuse and the boost gauge woks good.

Check the wiring on the gauges and check the oil pressure sending unit.

 

I have checked the wiring but i dont really understand it the only thing i know the power comes from the cigarette fuse i pulled the gauge pod but coulnt see any loose wires and the oil sending unit how can i check that i know were it is.

 

You are probably going to have to get up under the car. Look around the oil filter, the sending unit should look like one of these:





When you checked the wiring on the gauges did you check to see if they have a good ground?

 

ill take picuters to show you guys how its wired, were can i get another sending unit? Autozone maybe.

 

Who made the gauges? Are they OEM?

 

i would check the ground on them

 

They are prosport gauges

 

I have the same problem with prosport sending unit.i replaced twice that sender in two years and its dead again and needle stuck at max.I gave up and left it alone.

 

Buy new ones and throw out your prosport ones. See problems solved

 

If you're positive it's just the sending unit, you can get one pretty easily.

Def check all of the connections like previous members said and also might want to get a new sending unit for the oil pressure!
