very nice, I'm sure you'll hit some good trap speeds at the track!

Unhappy Misleading report...

...Interesting chart but...

I noticed, from the attached picture, that the car was strapped over the front-wheels only, which means you measured front-wheel power, and, that my friend, skews up your numbers quiet nicely.

In essence, you got 411 whp with 100 oct (I suppose no cat), 26-to-23 psi of boost and 272 cams... on a two-wheel drive dyno...

That power level translates into (probably) 380 wheel horsepower on a 4wd Dynojet platform which, with your boost levels and cams, can be obtained a slimmer mods. portfolio.

Look at the top range of the power and torque curve. There is a dramatic torque fall-off, which looks to me like limited intake or exhaust flow, considering that you have the cam gears in place.

Just my two cents...

From my research this is the most power made so far on the stock turbo on a 2wd dyno. If I am mistaken please show me. I will make a trip out to Axis Racing in St. Louis in the Spring where there is an AWD dyno and put down some numbers to see what it makes there. But, I should put this all to bed when the track opens up this spring.

This AWD vs. 2wd stuff is getting annoying. I am trying to show people the possibilities of what these cars are made of with bolt ons and tuning.

Well considering I am still using the stock turbo, exhaust manifold, and o2housing I would think that the torque stays flat from 4200 to 5250 where the hp crosses over the torque curve then it falls off when the turbo is falling on its face. If you look at my EMS log for that run the boost spiked to about 27psi then went to 25-26psi and then fell off in the higher rpms because the turbo is maxed out. If I can hold it at 26-27psi until 5200 rpms it should make more torque and flatten out even better.

AMS and Buschur uses the same type of dyno... Would you say their experience and results over the years mean anything?.. I think so..

What's really important in the end is that the car is well tuned for results on the tarmac... don't you agree?

The result that Chad got is about 30 horses more than AMS made (since at the time they were only tuning with an SAFC on their stock turbo evo8).. And AMS ran 11.85 at that setup.. Buschur ran 11.65 with probably close to about the same hp as Chad (never saw the final AEM dyno for that run though)

So, do you still think this is not a valid measure?

good job, Chad!

i will make sure that i see on St. Louis next time,
i miss the AMS meet,
anyway, i will be there on next Monday to dyno and tune.

also, consider it's stock USDM EVO8 turbo, the whole damn world know the boost drop closer to red line.

looking for a perfect dyno chart, go get a GT series turbo, you will see nothing before 3500~4k rpm.

EVO8Master, ppl using EMS with 272's won't have problem on idle.

Ben
