The ACD ECU is separate from the engine ECU, so I think you should still be able to short 2 pins on the OBD connector to have the error flash.

Take a small wire and short pins 1 and 4 on the OBD-2 port, then turn the key to the "on" position. The ACD lights will flash to tell you what the fault code is. There will be a number of slow flashes, a small pause, then faster flashes. The slow flashes each count for 10 and the fast flashes count for 1 (for example, if you get 8 slow then 2 fast flashes, the error code is 82). If I remember correctly, pin 1 is the pin closest to the shifter.
quoting myself, lol

Off topic but related to ACD - how will your evo ix drive like if you have a bad ACD or can you even drive it all? Does it have a clutch disk inside as well and will slip if its bad? What does driving with a bad or going bad ACD feels like?

I drove around with a dead pump for 2-3 months while waiting for a replacement and time to swap them. Basically, the car will drive like it has an open diff.

So if the black connector is my obd2 port the first pin closest to me .... doesn't seem to have anything in it.. Am I referencing the wrong connector?

Yes, the black one is the OBD connector. I don't remember where the pin count starts unfortunately. I had found it somewhere (on this forum I think). Maybe try searching for it. Otherwise I can try checking the service manual tonight in case it's in there.

Since I relocated my pump to the trunk and have bled only with a battery pack my acd lights have been coming on randomly... however today after I did the gas pedal down turn key on sequence pump bleed. It has gone by the entire day driving without coming on... Fingers crossed.

If you have air in the acd line the three lights will illuminate, this may very well be your issue.

What was the proper way to bleed the unit? I had it on a booster pack and would turn the pump on then crack the bleeder screw for a few seconds(never went lower than the min mark), close the screw topoff/check the level and do it again.
I kept having air bubbles in the fluid (attached a clear tube for it to go in drainpan)
