Dude the same thing happened to me.....Took it in for oil change and tire rotation. I reset the peak value on my boost gauge on my EBC and dropped it off. When I picked it up, the peak value read 21.4psi. I went inside and told the service manager very calmly and plainly, I did not pay 30k for a car to have some jackass in the service department abuse it, or drive it anywhere other than inside the bay to work on it. I made it VERY clear how dissatisfied I was and that they would not be seeing my car for any kind of business again. What a bunch of *******s. It's a good thing I leave my gun at home

Hey I got one for you...
Went to the dealer and in my glove box is Greddy Profec Spec II. I always turn it on low which is like 15psi 1.48bar. Anyway I reset my Trip meter (only B) and also go in the glove compartment and reset my peak boost. Well when I picked up my car I saw it reach the LOW BOOST PEAK!!! I was like OMG you got to be kidding me. Good thing It was not on high boost or they would have killed them selves. This is rediclious but I dont know how to tell the service manager with out him knowing i have EVC since it is hidden.

Hey I saw this thing on TechTV a few months ago that plugs into your OBD port and logs like a day's worth of inputs. Pretty much anything the OBD port puts out, even g-forces. Can't remember the price, but I think it was between $50-$100 for the entry model.

edit: BTW it was pretty small, not like a big thing with wires hanging from it

are we getting the point?

These stories are the norm in my opionion - you are dealing with the lowest of the low in terms of people who wrench cars for a living....very few of these techs give a **** about you or your car or your business....to think otherwise is ignorant.

Take your cars to people who own their own shop and who have a mortgage and their kid's future on the line - not to some punk ***, unmotivated slacker-**** who puts in his 8 hours then is out. Think about it......
