i have the RS kit also....do you guys know if there is actually a diff. (besides the piping) between the RS kit and just the HKS filter? is there more power from the RS kit versus just the filter? i don't have a boost gauge yet but it feels just as strong if not stronger to me. it does make it a lot easier to hear the turbo spool up too.

Hey guys which one is better then: HKS RS, RMR, or Buschur or stock with drop-in K&N square filter?

All of these intakes (except that K&N drop in) look almost exactly the same. They all put the filter in the same spot. And also in Buschurs site he says he has gotten about 5hp and 7lb/ft of torque from his intake but the K&N drop in filter made 7hp in a dyno day at Pruven! I don't know what other mods were done to the car, but it was getting dynoflashed.

Anyway...Since they all look like they are the same I think that the differences between them is in the filter.

What are you guys thoughts? HKS is hot but damn, $300 just because its from HKS and its japanese is serious for just 5hp.
These should help out more once I upgrade the turbo right? or will it still just be an extra 5hp?

Either way I really want the quicker turbo spool and the beautiful noises coming from the engine. aaaahhhh turbo spool jeje

later guys
Omar

Just to get things straight, MAF sensors are designed to compensate for more (or less) oxygen, up to their limits (physical diameter) to keep the A/F ratio within programmed specs. Aftermarket intakes can alter the turbulence of air flow (vortices) to something the MAF sensor doesnt "recognize", giving an unexpected value to the ECU to calculate A/F. The last thing you want to do is use an MBC and alter boost if it is known that a particular intake makes an area in the power curve too lean. Aftermarket intakes should be specifically programmed for by a tuner for best results.

A K&N drop-in panel filter is your best bet. Unless you're tuning for your intake, all you're doing is making more noise and making some possibly dangerous lean-spots in your power curve.
