Mystery harness behind pass. side headlight

I was poking around under my fender liner in my passenger side front wheel well and I noticed there was a harness unplugged....I thought it was for the headlight at first, but It's definitely not because my headlights work perfectly...hard to really explain so here's some pictures

For reference here's the area it was in- engine bay all the way up front behind the light and down pretty far (passenger side)

And heres the harness-

I was in the middle of cleaning it...haven't got around to plugging it back in yet. Any one have any idea what this is for? I havent noticed anything wrong honestly...

It's not to my headlights. Like I said they all work, it's the first thing I checked.

I'm 99% sure it's for the headlight leveling system....

park with your headlights against a wall or garage door and raise/lower the headlights, and see if that side moves.

Alright I tried with the harness unplugged and plugged in and both ways there was no movement in the pass headlight. I sprayed it with some detox stuff that's supposed to clean off the corosion and junk and still nothing.

But that's probably what it was for...any ideas on how to fix if?

+1 That's HID headlight leveling harness. IF you plugged back in and nothing moves then perhaps, leveling motor is bad. Don't worry, You can still adjust manually. Did you buy this car used?

It could also be that the corrosion has cut the connection. Try testing it with a volt meter.

Yeaa. I feel stupid asking how to fix it haha idk what I was thinking typing that. I'm gonna test it with a volt meter tomorrow and probably end up taking the whole assembly out. to work on it. But at least now I know what the things for so thanks yall!

Yea I bought this car used. Are you saying you can adjust the hid manually like overriding the motor? Or are you talking about adjusting the entire headlight like with those adjustment screws that come on most cars?

Just curious, because i'll probably just leave it where its at until I can fix it. As long as it still lights up and can get me home from work i'm good haha.

Btw, check your fuses to make sure it hasn't blown either.
