My X is further modified and making more power than my IX was. Both are GSR's.

Here's a dyno comparison for your viewing pleasure:

Both are on 93-octane pump gas.

Now here's a comparison from when my X was still on the stock turbo. At this stage the mod lists were very similar with the major difference being my IX had cams whereas my X is still on stock cams:

Again, both on 93-octane.

Have to keep in mind this guy want an MR, putting that much power to an SST seems to be a bit of work and a **** ton of maintenance.

Great numbers too btw, I'd love to take a rip in your X since my Viii is making the same power.

It's all in what someone wants. Kraker loves the move from his IX to the X.

Seen quite a few owners on here that have had X's since sold them off to come back to a CT9A.

Have also seen on here folks that bought the MR get rid of it for the GSR.

Me I've driven a few X's and I wouldn't give up my VIII for one. Just not what I want.

OP should get which car makes him happy but I def recommend driving the MR before just jumping into buying it. Would suck to regret it like other have.

Evo X won't hold value as much as your VIII

you seem like you really dont want to sell your vIII, understand completly.
6500 miles isnt even really broken in.
my 12 mr has 4200 miles already.
you are trying to jusify selling a car with 8k even still thats hardly even used.

I say get a 2012 mr find a left over & save some cash, then you have both.
Then you could always sell your vIII if you change your mind, you will get a private buyer in a snap.

I wouldn't do it. I had 180,000 miles on my IX MR and sold it for a 2010 EVO X SE. Biggest mistake I've ever made. My IX MR is still running with right at 200,000 miles on it. I sold it with 360-370whp, and the new owner is running it around 500whp. Original tranny, TC, and rear diff. I kept the EVO X SE for maybe two months and traded it for a BMW 335i. I liked my 335 a LOT more than the X, but still missed the IX. I bought another IX MR with 60k miles on it, that was in great shape, but not as good a shape as my IX with 180,000 miles...I took care of that car. After getting the EVO IX MR again, the BMW just sat so I ended up selling it. Now I've come full circle back to a IX MR, and I won't be letting this one go ever again. When I buy a GTR in a year or so, the EVO will stay on as the all out race car.

There's feedback from someone who actually owned both, not driven or "experienced", but actually owned.
ODUB, what was your dislike for the X? Saying it's your "biggest mistake" warrants an explanation in my book.

I own both an 8 and X, in the end it all comes down to needs of the person. The X has 95% of the thrills of the 8 with extra comfort, tech and safety I want. Easily the 8 wins in feel and rawness making it the perfect hobby vehicle.

Sounds like the guy already made up his mind, go for the X as a daily.
