hey guys i have an evo 8 bought from another member on here. its basically a fully built motor with a rps twin disk. it a nice clutch holds power, little aggressive but managable.

so a week ago i got in it in second and shifted to third little hard then the pedal went to the floor, i thought it was just the slave over extenting but come to find out that the clip that holds the throwout bearing to the clutch fork broke. i got it replaced and fixed in a day. today i shifted into 3rd slowly and calmly to not experience the issue again but happened anyways. my cousin is my mechanic for this car and a local tuner. he says i need to buy a new clutch or else this will keep happening and to me that just sounds like a load of bs to me. is this a common issue on twin disks or rps clutches? is there a solution besides hydro tob? is the only solution a new clutch? please help guys and sorry if i forgot a word or two cause im posting this from my friends car while we wait to tow my car again

You need to get a clutch slave stop.

 

You need a clutch fork stop.

Peoe also install an extra wave disk as well to help prevent the clip popping off the TOB

 

i know about the stopper and ill be ordering one. it just seems crazy for it to pop or break twice in a week. so even if i ordered the stop this would have happened while ibwas waitibg for the mail
