checking fuel pressure
Cam and crank sensor will not always throw a code when they go bad. They are a two trip fail which means they have to fail twice to actually throw the light on. Yes, usually if the wiring is damaged it will keep the light on but there are very rare occasions when a damaged wire is heated up to much resistance. More than likely it is a cam or crank sensor.
