Help please!

When im driving accelerating and its only happened in 4th gear so far and its random. I get a loud pop from what I think is the transfer case it slows me down and my power flickers ie radio turns off and gauges but then right back on.
Now recently I drove from texas to maryland my alternator went out I had a local shop do the repairs. I was not present for them. Could a tow have caused these issues. I dont notknow if they used a flat bed or not
Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

if they didnt use a flat bed you're tcase would be destroyed right away and it wouldnt only do it in 4th gear. it would whine and hum at you instead of popping. check all the grounds on the engine. sounds like its a eltrical issue

If the lights were flickering you still have some sort of electrical issue.

Exactly as stated above. It sounds like an electrical issue, more specifically a grounding issue. Almost sounds like you are getting a build up of resistance to the point where you may have a disconnected wire creating an arc.

Yep, check your starter ground wire, do you have an aftermarket COP?
