I'm afraid of losing power by recirculating.

Your making it harder then it is, go to a local reputable shop and have them reroute it!

p.s.
Stop believing everything you read on the forums. It's a ton of partially organized opinions, with some hidden factual information.

I spoke to mike at ETS. He even said I would see a loss of power.

I think the muffler is the worst option, it will reduce power and still be loud

Open dt will give max power

Recirculated properly will keep it quiet and produce more power than a muffled dt

You do see a loss in power on recirculating. A prime example is a Subaru Kozmic just did, which is 35hp less from our open dump vs recirculated dump tube. But the customer wanted in quiet.

Exactly. So there is a significant trade off. I straight trough muffler shouldn't reduce power? It only muffles sound for what I've learned.

You wouldn't be able to see it anyway.

I reread this again, am I missing something??

What is the objective here, noise reduction? I'm lost as to why you're wanting to put a muffler on your dump tube.

Having a muffler on your dump tube is like banging Angelina Jolie with a rubber.

To reduce noise not power

so lets recap...

You're concerned with noise.

From your external wastegate dump.

which should only be heard in boost hard.

In which case you're on the throttle, producing a much louder exhaust note.

on a turbo 4 cylinder car.

which has to have a free flowing exhaust to make power (read: loud)

and you're concerned with losing 20 or so HP.

Did I get all that?

lol, sorry. I just don't get it. Here's my genuine advice...

Recirc it, put a silencer in your exhaust, and come back and let us know how much you really notice that lost HP.

Or nut up.

Last option? get a new hobby or buy a vette.

Either way your going to lose some power. Which one will net more loss is the question. Honestly no one here probably knows because no one has used a muffler like that before, they either dump it or route it back to the exhaust. You might just have to be the first and report back on it. But I have to agree with Hypcodiiihop. The waste gate is open when your on the throttle so your making more exhaust noise anyway. Bottom line is if you want it to be quieter your going to lose power, noo ne can tell you how much till you do it, if you can't make that compromise then your going to have to deal with how loud it is. You can always retune and make more power.
