Car sounds supercharged?

I noticed this evening that when applying load to the car in mainly 2nd-4th gear im getting a loud whining sound similar to a supercharger whine, starting at like 3.5k rpms to redline.

I just had my timing belt changed about 150 miles ago.
Transfer and trans fluids changed back in October. So prob like 6k miles ago.

All I can think of at the time any similar things happened to anyone else?

what turbo do you have ? because my GTX3582 has a whine/whistle at low rpm and with almost any throttle input.

Stock 9 turbo. I've always heard the turbo spooling. This is more or a whine similar to a kenne bell whine

Boost hits fine. No sputtering or cutting out. Will check shaft play tomorrow.

Are you certain its not your walboro 255? They can whine pretty loud especially if you remove the rear seat.

Did you change to an open air filter recently? Maybe that's what your hearing. The Turbo is a lot more audible with an open air vs. the stock air box.

Nope that's a very faint whine in my car.

I've had an open air filter forever.

Maybe your alternator. Mine got a pretty nasty whine when it was failing. It would defiantly get louder (worse) when RPM's went up. Good luck!

Transmission, center
or rear differential. Did you upgraded to urethane bushings?

I had a boost leak once at the recir valve's flange. It sounded like a high-pitch whine similar to a supercharger.

Stock bushings.

Looks like I'm gonna check the fluids just to be sure.
