I have actually seen this happen in my garage. It was a 2010 Jeep Wrangler with 10k miles on it. The inside of the fuel tank was all brown and sticky, the vehicle obviously would just crank and not start. The tech replaced fuel pump and fuel tank, still did not start. He ended up putting a brand new engine in the vehicle, injectors, etc, vehicle ran but ran poorly. It was a lost cause. The vehicle kept coming back with the check engine light on. I think the insurance company finally put the customer in another vehicle and totaled the Jeep.

Sorry for no reply but I dont know who did it. My block blew two weeks ago and i left the car on the street i had no place to put it until i get a new engine and someone broke in the fuel door i saw suger on the ground and inside the fuel door. But before i saw this i put the keys in the car and tryed to crank it once or twice before i saw fuel door was broken into. My car was on e85 and 1000 dynamic injectors also walboro pump, would 2-3 cranks suck in alot of suger to make the fuel pump and injectors screwed up? ughh. My luck sucks. Never leave an evo on the road. Leason learned.

I dont get it? Did you blow the motor before or after the sugar? You said you parked it on the street because it has a blown motor, and then you went out to try to start a car that has a blown motor. That's when you noticed the gas door was open, and now you're worried you have a blown motor? See where I'm going with this? IMO, something seems fishy about this story, and I don't know if I believe it at all.

And I'm 99% sure (unless it was ALOT of undissolved sediment) it wasn't sugar that did that to your motor.

The motor blew up and I had it town to my house and I left it out in the street. My buddy came to look at the engine.and he told.me.to try to crank it and I did like 2-3 times and then I noticed the fuel door was broken into in the driver mirror. Im not sure if I need to replace the whole fuel system. Would 2-3 cracks damage the 1000 injectors and the fuel pump? Nothing.fishy here man. Just got screwed badly.

Really? Sugar in gas tank is a myth.

Also on mythbusters... they even said the car ran BETTER!

Once again.... it wasnt the sugar that blew your motor. If I was in your shoes, I'd start taking the motor apart to figure out what happened. No point in assuming it was sugar, unless your extremely determined to believe a myth. Sooooo, theoretically, you didn't get screwed at all. If anything, you screwed yourself for not maintaining the vehicle and blowing the motor. Just my 2 cents.

I don't want to sound like a dick, but the facts are out there. Its been proven by scientists and professors. It wasn't the sugar. Good luck.

Not a very bright buddy if he was wanting to start a blown engine. You might end up from going from a simple rebuild to having a worthless head for even a core.

That sucks. But if it were me I would not be too concerned about it. If you are then I would drain the fuel drop the tank and clean it.

On a side note. One time at my High School I seen a kid **** into this other guys gas tank(was a truck).
I do not know what comes over people lol.

**** is non combustible, so it would do the same damage as if you just poured water into the gas tank. KABOOM
