Mellon tuned my car twice and I didn't have any complaints about both times. He was willing to tune my car on weekends which was his family time to get my car done and for that I can't thank him enough.

You should include Tscompusa into your choices also for tuning. I was in the same situation as you, however I chose TSCOMPUSA after seeing the results he posts. I think he's the only one on the forum that actually does it full time for a living. His attention to detail is insane. You'd be happy with his tune... I sure am seeing as he kept my stock motor alive at 700HP (630 on buschur's dyno) lol.

But like I posted above, I'd go with English racing as apposed to Mellon.. tscomp is my first choice though.

Alright I sent a message tscomptuned just because I am open to opinions.. can anyone else vouch for their email tunes? Or is that all he does is email tunes.. I didn't get that.

As mentioned, I have contacted Tom with tscomptuned and he has already responded to my emails and seems like a great guy who knows what he is talking about. Thank you for suggestion.

Being able to spam the forums with virtual dyno results doesn't mean you are a good tuner. Nothing against tscompusa

Real world results posted to that section is not in any way spam. Between all the reviews his customers post in the vendors review section and the dyno results threads he posts in the dyno results section, I think it show's he's a pretty good tuner

Great choice man, you will be happy with the results He's done over 600+ cars with under a 1% failure rate, and also kept people from selling their cars

ER builds engines, transmissions, in shop dyno tunes, and even works on other platforms (and have been doing so for years) so yeah they don't ETune all the time. They do have other work to do. Given the options in this thread it would be ER. They have the most knowledge on the platform whether its MAF, SD, road race or drag. Because of this they can better diagnose issues remotely and also if anything goes wrong actually have a shop which can fix just about anything Evo related. And a shop that you'd actually want to have your car dropped off of should it ever come to that.

^x2 (@ codgi).

Aaron @ English, does more than just "make a living" out of the Evo community. He's an innovator, and one of the most influential members/ tuners/ engine builders here on EvoM.

I also believe TSComp's initial price for a single "remote" tuned map (ie lowest around), attracts tons of attention from a certain market segment.. The cheaper one ... Good strategy on TScomp's part, im sure he's busy trying to keep up with demand.. Im not knocking his tuning ability at all btw. But I do believe tuners that can justifiably charge more for their tune's, rightly do so. Youre paying for their experience, period. And in ER's case, they're one of the best.

I don't want to turn this into a mbc vs 3 port debate but to me, 3 port (or 3 port/mbc hybrid) is the only way to go (especially with limiting the tq spike down low while holding more boost up top on stock blocks. not to mention far more consistent boost profiles in drastically different weather and gear based boost etc). The very fact that Mellon only tunes with mbc is a huge turn off for me.

Tscomp is a genius and I am more than happy with his knowledge and tunes. I have never seen anyone put out as many safe high HP stock block cars with trap speeds to back up the VD #s. Interestingly he once told me that Aaron @ ER is one of the best tuners in the US.

In my mind you simply can't go wrong with either Tscomp or Aaron (JohnBradley) for remote tunes (and more).

Hope that helps and good luck OP

My vote is Mellon.

I trailered my car to his home from ct to va beach. He's honest knows his **** and will go out of his way to help customers out.

I'm still in works of tuning with him in my car now remotely because we ran into problems when I went down there.

He's more community based than you think, he travels all over the place even to different country to tune people's car.

He's super fast reply, and answers any questions you have.

I never dealt with anyone at english racing.

Chris posts all his tuning results on his website. Check them out and I'm sure you can see similar numbers to your setup.
