I do believe that the car will only have "EVOLUTION" on the back considering that no evo has ever come out here....it wouldnt make sense to have a VIII

 

cheers for the OZ i had a feeling all the bashing it took would come back and bite someone in the ***. if thats the EVO 8 then made a bit of a mistake IMO. because the front end of that car his horrid. it does not in any way flow with the lines of the rest of the car. the front end looks like a buzzard shot twice and beat with a large stick for the remainder of the day.

wow... its nice that everyone agrees with me gosh i still wish the evo would look better... but we still dont know exactly for sure... so lets just wait and seeeeeeeeee

 

I will say this, the EVO VIII in the Automobile magazine is yellow, and the headlights look more rally inspired, but shaped just like the VII's. The article only says that the EVO VIII will have improved engine cooling, a recalibrated suspension, and a six speed transmission. For everything else, it looks like the EVO VII. I guess its the triangular center in the grill that bothers everybody. Too freakin bad I don't have a scanner to show everybody. The headlights DO NOT look like the ones on the black EVO. From what I've seen in the magazine, looks pretty good to me. Maybe when we finally see it with our own eyes we will think differently. If I find any links to the pic in the magazine I will post it. Sorry everybody.

Yes, thats the one. I guess I haven't been on up to date with stuff lately. I wounder how Auto magazines sources are. AJF hit the description right on the nose though. After all this time waiting to hear official word for the EVO VIII or VII or whatever the hell. The despiration for the real truth just leads me to reading rumors and buying what ever sounds legit. If that's the VIII we're getting, some may like it, some may think it's ugly as hell. We'll just have to wait until we see the real thing, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, SEE WHAT IT"S MADE OF. I just have to see AND DRIVE the VII or VIII for my damn self.

 

From the descriptions given it looks like that yellowish one I posted but the hood scoop/vents are further forward (like the black Evo with projector lights)...and according to AJF the hood scoops are one solid piece not two vents side by side. Can someone photoshop the picture so we can get a better idea??

 

YEA it does look kinda pontiac vibeish on the grill. Come to think of it, it does kinda ripoff the big nostrile trademark Pontiac has been putting on their autos. I guss the triangle idea sprung to the auto designers mind since it's the shape of the Mitsu symbo. Well, hopefully he'll retrieve some negative feedback and change the design. The new Z concept was ugly as sin on the first concept. Then finally on the third they got it right. Maybe it won't look so bad seeing it for real when it finally comes out. My local mitsu dealer's sales manager went to Vegas and told me when he got back that he isn't taking deposites till Sept or Oct. He said that is the expected release time frame for the U.S. specs on the VIII. Sure they can hold my money for me, but it's just no good with no official word.

 

I honestly dont think they will make the evo look that ugly. If anything more aggressive...i personally like this EVO Vii quite a bit.

the front grill has changed alot from its previous incarnations and doesn't look as badass IMO

 

Get this: I went to a dealer today, why? I dont know. So anyway I start asking about the EVO. I ask: "So what have you heard about the EVO 7"
The dealer says: "I heard we were geting a 6"..
"6!! What?"
"Yea, with 342hp and a way stiffer suspension." He was entierly serious.
"Really." I say in disbelief
"And we probably wont get one for another 8 months."
"Wow."

Friggin' idiot? Yes. Rasied my hopes? Sure as hell did.

 

My brothers friend works for a mitsu dealer and he heard(even though he heard a rumor) that they are trying to get the 4g63 engine into the EVO within 2004, but are trying as best to bring everything over to the 2003 EVO.

 

The Evo's have always had 4g63's in them. They probably always will. Japan or here, detuned or not.
