vis FTW for sure.

I have both their hood and their trunk LOVE THEM both...the hood fits perfect....and looks fantastic. just what I was hoping for at half the cost.
I have the demon trunk du luck knock off and again look fantastic and fits good, all the spaces between the trunk and the body line up fantastic, just one side is a little higher then the other side you really have to look for it otherwise youd never know.
I would buy then again, I had them both for over a yera and there is zero yellowing not a single problem.

Sometimes shady resellers will be authorized VIS dealers, but substitute their fake ones. That's why the "mixed" results.

I talked to VIS about this just a few days ago, and they said they match any price directly

I had a VIS cf hood for a while and it was definitely heavier than the stock hood. I wouldn't recommend one at all, waste of money if your reasoning is "weight reduction".

my stock trunk does the same thing with no wing on it just shoots stright open like its under pressure i believe there are bars to adjust so its prolly not your trunk.

Just put my Do-Luck style trunk on yesterday and overall I'm very pleased. Everything about it appears to be good quality and fitment is probably about 9/10. We'll have to see how to clearcoat holds up but I plan on putting a good coat of sealant/wax on it this week so hopefully that will help protect it.

The reason your trunk flies open like that is because you need to remove one or both of the torsion bars. The CF trunk is a lot lighter than your stocker. Personally, I had to remove both because the trunk wouldn't sit right with only one in. Kinda stinks not having the trunk stay open by itself but I guess Redline Tuning makes a kit to fix that.

Could you please take a picture of the underside of the hood and the VIS sticker/plaque and post it up? Where did you purchase it from?

You can fix this by removing one of the torsion bars under the rear deckled (where the rear speakers mount). There are two bars (torsion springs) that assist in raising the trunk, removing one will reduce the amount of assistance, better for a lightweight trunk lid.

Got rid of it months ago for a stocker. It was a vis though.

VIS makes good quality carbon parts. I;ve had several friends have them for years with no issues. I plan on ordering one for my evo.

I've had two VIS carbon hoods and both were not that great, one warped really bad and gave me a 2" gap to one side and both cracked really quickly. Definitely made to be under a cover or in a garage 99% of it's life.

I had all vis carbon parts on my old evo hood, trunk, vortex, and spoiler. Might do it again to the evo I got now once I paint the car.
