Losing power while driving?

Hey guys,

I searched around and couldn't really find anything that relates so let me ask.

We recently did a clutch job on my 8. Everything was just fine before. Gt done ad everything ran fine. I recently took it out and by the time I got home the instrument panel was real dim. Turned the switch all the way up. Still not bright. I then stalled out and tried to start it and it was dying admit was turning over. Finally kicked and parked it...

This morning it started fine but sorta slowly. As I was driving today the srs light and abs light came on, CD player died, interior lights got even dimmer. Almost out completely, and the car was idling at 2k. So I took it home.

Does this sound like a ****ty battery to you like it does to me? It's small stuff that I can fix but would bother me all day at work if I didn't talk to others about it.

Help me

It could be alternator. Coz when mine when out on me that what happen. When I turn on the ac it won't start I thought my ac compressor broke but when the car died n leave me stranded on high way. Lucky my friends has a Evo too so I just borrowed his battery n drove it home.

Check terminals ad tightened them. Still to no avail. I really do not want to accept it is the alternator

+1, I thought I had a faulty alternator turns out to be just a loose bat terminal.
Tighten them down and go for a spin.

I suggest you check the voltage output. With engine not running, it should be around 12-12.5 Vdc. Then start your car (hope there is still enough juice to crank it) and raise RPM a little bit, measure again, it should be around 13-14 volts ( 13.8-14.2 ). So, it could be your battery or your alternator. If alternator is charging, then you need new battery. But since you were able to start and drive the car- it seems you were just running on battery with just enough juice to start it and drive and then it eventually died since nothing is charging it.

mine did this too a few times after multiple alt changes. ended up being because the harness coming off the alternator was starting to break and was getting a bad connection
