I've been scammed in the past before and it sucks. A select few ruin it for hard working honest people. Luckly I have not been scammed on this site before but when I had my 2006 Sti back in the day I got scammed on the Subaru site. Now I just try to buy most of my parts through reputable vendors like map whenever possible. Even though new parts are more expensive, at least you know you aren't going to get scammed.

 

I always purchase using paypal. I then have everything delivered to my mailbox at the ups store. I always open it up in front of the ups store rep. If it's damaged or not what was ordered, i seal the box back up and "return to sender". I then file a claim.

Unfortunately i started doing this because someone on here (who sells quite a bit) sold me something incomplete, then kept the "oh it's coming next week" game going till paypal's buyer dispute timeframe was almost elapsed. Luckily i filed the claim on the next last day, shipped the item back (with a tracking number) and got my money back.

I was out return shipping on that deal. Ever since i open and inspect at the store

 

I just use paypal and my cc. Got scammed once on some 2k worth wheels and luckily paypal gave me my money back. Cc company said if paypal did not they would so i was not worried. But it goes both ways nowadays since paypal usually chooses the buyers side even if you send everything right there are people that file a claim and get the part and plus the money so.

 

Funny the thief has been on here a few times since this was posted.
Doesn't answer the phone either...

This might end in me doing it the hard way and taking a vacation to IL to visit him.
I am betting the police in his neck of the woods is going to love to hear about this one.

 

I hope he lives with his parents... I am sure they will love to find out what their son is up to.

just started buying parts on the forum, so far so good. hopefully i wont get scammed in the future. knock on some wood..
