What are your Front Swaybar thoughts?

I am doing my tranny, and think this will be a good time to do the Front Swaybar.

I have a Whiteline RSB (middle settings), Bump steer, Robispec springs on KYB's and -1.7/-1.4 camber.

Id like to get your impressions on the FSB. How will it change the car? I searched around and found different opinions.

The car is a DD, i am mostly looking for good highway handling. in the future i might do auto X and hpd schools. I will also go with a softer suspension like Bilstiens and GTworks springs.

Id like to hear from people who installed a FSB, especially the Whitleline unit ( i am looking at whiteline 26mm)

One thing i forgot to mention, i am getting the t-case rebuilt as well and going with a wavetrack, i think that will help with the under-steer too.

This is the sort of thing you should discuss with a suspension tuner. Suspension mods aren't like engine mods that have a logical progression. Different swaybars (based on thickness) perform differently. It's all about the handling characteristics you want the car to have. For example some road course cars run a stock swaybar in the front or the rear. Some people even run SMALLER bars. It all depends on under steer/oversteer and when the car exhibits each, ya dig?

I just got the whiteline 27mm front sway bar, roll-center kit, and steering precision kit but havent installed yet. The FSB is supposed to make a big difference in front-end grip. Have you done the rear diff plates restack mod? That is supossed to help understeer and I would be curious to see what it did with your setup.

I hear the rear Diff does wonders but its out of my price range for now (unless someone does re-stacks for less then TRE and Shep)

One other thing i am considering is drilling the stock bar for extra stiffness.

looks like you have a pretty good setup. I have the robi spec springs on kybs as well. As far as handling, they are awesome combo. If you wanted to switch to bilsteins for the smoother ride for dd then fine but for the performance aspect I would personally not upgrade that setup until I was ready to do a coilover like AST,JRZ,etc.

I didn't feel the ride any harsher on the streets with a larger fsb, even going over uneven roads and bumps. The car felt better actually. It felt more firm for sure but nothing ridiculous, I ended up going with the tanabe 25.4mm piece though.

If your getting a bit too much oversteer coming out of turns then a fsb will help keep the front tires gripping you through the turn. One thing to consider is that the best suspension setup for autox may not necessarily be the best for track/hpde or dd, just something to consider when your thinking about upgrading suspension components.

I suspect you will feel no need to change springs if you put Bilsteins on - I find Robispec w/ Bilsteins better than Bilsteins w/stock springs on rough roads despite them giving a much more controlled ride.

Thanks for the input everyone. I ended up going with a WL 26mm front, i got a good deal through nolimitmotors.

I dont think i will be disappointed. Ill figured i can fine tune the rear in case i dont like the setup.

Ill be doing a rear diff re-stack at some point as well.

You can do the diff re-stack yourself in your garage for free, other than the cost of fresh oil and some gasket maker.

I should have done the rear diff mod this winter when my car was down for 3 months... The only tool I need would be a mounted vice, but I have plenty at work just not a good environment to do work like that (construction site)

I was able to do it without a mounted vice, but you will need a friend to hold the diff while you bolt on the cover.
