Just wanna chime in that it may be a bad idea to reuse your head bolts too. Maybe look into ARP head studs while you're re-doing the head.

Yeah good point. It is just one of those thing that sucks but its also extra security being who knows how that old motor was being used. It is better to be safe then sorry.

That should work fine. You may want to get arp head studs like Tsensational said being stock ones really aren't reliable enough for higher boost levels. Another thing too is to use copper spray for the hg. I myself always use oem mls head gaskets with copper spray and never had any worrys about leaky head gaskets. It looks like that kit comes with just about everything you need which should work just fine.

Cursed dsm, I want to thank you so much for answering all of my questions. You are truly helpful in every aspect and i give kudos to you.

On a side note I came up to this thread here:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...heres-how.html

Would that timing belt and part number fit my evo 3 motor because I was searching gates belts on ebayy and they are 100 plus bucks!!

That is what we are here for my brotha, we are here to help one another and to help those who are in need. It is what the community is and should be about. I am glad I can help you out.

That isn't the correct belt I was talking about. You will need one for the dsm motors. Yes they are 100 bucks but look at it in retrospect, 100 bucks for a belt or 1000 some bucks to rebuild a motor? Evo motors are interference motors being if that belt breaks it is gonna be some carnage and will end up replacing all the valves, pending on how the pistons are maybe one of those if its unfixable.

Thanks bro! Do I need the ultimate racing Kevlar version? OR will this one be sufficient.

That one will work just fine, I recommend the Kevlar though being the oem ones will stretch over time. Stockish or not its just added security against wacking valves. It is up to you. I know we all penny pinch and I don't want to stray you in the wrong direction or anything. All those parts are what you will need just remember to get a new auto tensioner with it.

Ok got ya bro. My last and final question. I am getting a used 16g turbo because mine is fried. Should I prime the turbo with oil before starting it? Or just install the turbo and put the fitting that goes into the block for the oil feed and start the car right up?

Well if your turbo is fried why not spend the 100 bucks and get it rebuilt if it needs it? Save yourself some cash that way. Or if not and you have to get a new one that blows, but all the turbos I have put on the cars I have never put oil in them before hand. That isn't to say it shouldn't be done. With the oil and coolant being supplied already the time its gonna take to reach the turbo shouldn't be that long and shouldn't do any damage to the turbo. But if you feel that isn't a good enough answer go ahead and drop a little oil into the turbo and install it before you start it. Another thing is too make sure the turbo isn't a big 16g. There is a difference between a evo3 and a big 16g. The big turbos were found in the gallants where the evo3 were found in well the evo3. Just make sure you get the right turbo that way you make the correct power.

Ok guys head is in the machine shop should be out this evening or tommorow. I have a quick question. I bought a 16g from a friend of mines but the wheels are different. His own say T0D5 as weell but his turbo has more blades. Is this a regular 16g or a Big 16g? Just trying to see if this turbo will work or not.
