Evo 8 or 9 headlamps
Evo 8 or 9 headlamps
Does anyone out there know where I can find stock replacement headlamps for an 8 or 9? Non-HID headlamps are what I need. I can find plenty of X style but NO lamps for 8 or 9. Thanks for any help. I've been looking for weeks now.
Yeah, about the only place I've seen them is online at a Mitsu parts department. I've seen a few on eBay at times, but not in the condition I would like. Mine are actually ok, but the previous owner of my Evo painted or plastidip the chrome inside. While it looks cool, it takes away the functionality of the lamp itself. The chrome is used to scatter the headlight. My night time visibility is reduced because of this. Even with HID bulbs. If anyone else can think of a place online that has decent repro's, if they do exist, lemme know. Thanks again.

the low beams are the only light that is a projector, neither the fog lights nor high beams are projectors
reproduction headlights don't exist, it's OE or nothing. painting the housing of the headlights won't affect the headlights in any way unless the inside of the projector bowls were painted as well (which i highly doubt)
post up pictures of your lights so we can see what all is painted

I'll try to snap a pic tomorrow morning and post it at work. Seems to me that OEM non JDM headlamps arent black inside. At least that's what I thought. And by scatter I meant help disperse the light beams inside the housing and project them outwards. The low beam sits far enough back in the housing that it seems to me, it would use the chrome finish that is on the base inside and on the sides like the high beam does to scatter and disperse the light. I could be wrong and it may do nothing. The last evo I had was an 03 and had factory hids anyways. So my basis for comparison is limited. There is only about 10 or so evos in my area so I don't have much to compare to there either. Thanks for the input. I'll get pics up tomorrow.
Ok so apparently I was unaware that there was a side to side adjustement on our headlights and someone had totally screwed with mine at somepoint in the past. My main point in the previous posts about the reflective nature of the chrome finish in an oem headlamp, was for light dispersion. My lamps tend to shine very well to the left and right of the vehicle, not so much directly out front. Thus leaving me a bit of a blind spot. I discovered today when I had the assembly out to try and take a good pic for you guys, that the projector bulbs were pointed way out on either side. I took that weird cover off the left or right adjustment bolt and centered the bulb. Finally, lighting issue, solved.
