You gotta remember your not only paying for the parts... But the time, the r&d, and labor... I can tell you that developing you own parts is extremely time consuming and expensive... And when its limited availability you have higher prices because of production costs...

By no means am i saying it is okay to charhe 25k i think the ams 2.3rr motors are over priced. But you pay to play

Shhhhhhh, 25k .....and stil be with H-beams, no way. The logical choice for me would be 2.0BR or 2.4ER.

What I read on one of the the forums is it cant take more than 650 to 700 hp. If I were to pay 25k it should make more than 1000, imo

Makes sense. That engine is fitted with not only H beam rods but also Poncams. I think that at 650-700, the mild poncams would be holding a lot back.

1. Horsepower is cheap. Strength costs money.

2. Parts are less important than machine work.

We have one installed in one of our non-evo shop cars. Its a masterpiece, ran like a champ after doing a baseline tune. We also had the chance to visit Tomei Japan last year and the year before and we work very closely with them. The amount of R&D they put into these things is insane, full engine dynos and weeks of stress testing in inclimate temp conditions. Tomei isn't always the fastest to release new products but when they do they make some top notch stuff.

I will be going with a tomei arms turbo and internals with my evo 8 build (when I get off my **** and start it).

Wow 25k that's ridiculous as ****. I'd definitely buy an AMS long block before that.
