Russel hose fitting thread sealant
They recommend using their specific brand of thread seal, just curious if you guys use anything else for their threads when completing a dash (x) fitting into their hoses.

Um....

NO!

Do not use thread sealant on "AN" (pronounced "Aye En") fitting joints.

Russel does not recommend this, please do not spread this incorrect rumor.

You do need thread sealant on NPT fittings but no AN.
