The 52mm model may take a while to release, depends on the cost of tooling and how the 60mm models sell.

Why on earth did Gruppe-S not make the 52MM first, considering that's the one the majority wanted?!

That is very poor planning on their part.

60MM is easy enough to get a hold of used. The 52MM is the one that's tough to find and commands ridiculous premiums in the used parts marketplace.

Someone should be fired.

I'm guessing, because it would be cheaper just to produce one and then use the 52mm adapters rather than make the 2 different sizes. Makes sense to me.

You can't make a 52mm and put adapters to make it bigger, but you can make adapters to fit smaller Anyone thats has the adapters can they post pics what it looks like with the adpaters? Does it stick out?

The reason the 60mm was made first was because the mold for some reason allowed us to make 52mm later. If we built the 52mm later then it would be impossible without another huge tooling charge to make the 60mm. Also there are adapters for the 60mm, so you could essentially run 52mm gauges with the adapter. Also the 52mm could be made, but then people would have to dremel out the extra 8mm which could have been ok. Sorry but we had no choice, we were at the mercy of the factory. We wanted to do 52mm as well.

I find it hard to believe the factory can't just make the holes 8mm smaller and do a 52mm run. Running unsightly spacers is annoying.

As much as I would like to say I control the factory and their tooling, this is what they are telling me. It sucks, I am at their mercy. This was an item that was slated for complete discontinue, so I think a bunch of others are pretty happy to even have this, because we weren't going to bring it back. You never know, 52mm may come back later.

I'm guessing these are injection molded and that the gauge cutouts are part of the mold and not drilled afterwards?

If so, I don't think people understand how costly injection molds are to build. They're easily in the 5 digits. It's not just something you "retool" differently or anything, you build a completely new mold

Finding a 60mm -> 52mm adapter isn't that hard

You are right, we do not machine or drill them out. The tooling is 5 digits and there was also an design fee as wel. That is why no one has copied it, because the tooling costs so much. There are people who have done carbon or fiberglass, but nothing close to this. The factory that built us this tooling is *****ing because the quantities are really low but we got it done regardless.
