possible trans issue?

hey guys, been slowly rebuilding the evo 8 i picked up back in oct and shes almost done,

I have noticed that when the car is stone cold and i fire her up for the first time on any given day, the car in neutral actually creeps forward when i let the clutch out

not only that but the rpms drop a little as well

once the car has been running for a little while doesnt do that any more,,

I did check the clutch drag, put the car in first with the clutch pedal to the floor and reved the car up to 5k rpms and she didnt creep forward so the clutch pedal and friction point are good

have had an awd turbo before but havent had a symptom like that before,,

car has 150k on it, ams oil in the motor and the dyaqueen in the trany like is recomended for its entire life -- according to the PO and the guy the PO bought the car from

only other thing i notice is that when accelerating in first, not wot or anything just normal accel,,, i get a shake in the shifter knob,,,,

doesnt do that in any other gear at all, all very smooth -- so im wondering if possibly i have a bearing issue or maybe the cars been sitting now for almost a year and i just simply need to drive the ol girl to get things running again

i know cars do not like to just sit,, have a older bmw thats a perfect example of that

thanks for the input ahead of time guys

oh and act clutch kit and flywheel is in there as well with about 40k miles or so if that matters at all

I'm just shooting from the hip for this one, but I am still thinking you may be having a clutch engagement issue. There is no other explanation to why it would creep in neutral other than the clutch is not fully disengaging or its in another gear.

Any other noises besides the vibration?

nope car drives great, smooth besides first -- and when i say vibration i only feel it in the shifter knob i cant actually feel it in the car itself -- if that makes sense, not like a driveshaft out of balance or that kind of in your seat vibration

all the shifter cables look good, i mean neutral is neutral shouldnt be going anywhere right? haha

Correct, your neutral should pull you at all with the clutch all the way in. But from what you're explaining it sounds like the clutch just is not disengaging all the way. Clutch pedal pressure feels fine and everything I'm assuming?

Your master or slave cylinder could be going. Have you bleed your clutch lines to see if there is any air in them? If there is that could be an indicator.

clutch pedal feels just fine,

if the clutch isnt disengaging all the way, shouldnt me reving to 5-6k with the clutch pedal all the way to the floor and the car in first gear cause the car to creep forward??? -- im not creeping forward when i do that,,, nor is the car shifting hard like the syncros are being worked because the clutch isnt all the way
