Poverty evo build what do you think?

Im thinking about not doing the usual evo build with ets, buschur and fp goodies.

Only expensive part I want to buy are camshaft.

I see a lot of good used part deals in this forum.

Just got my 3rd Evo and want to do this theme.

I can get my hand on an Injen fmic core for 200 with injen licp, my friend is donating an e9 turbo for 250, also e9 bov for 50 bucks, ebay boost gauge, aem wide band, meth, gsc s2, megan down pipe, car has a 3" test pipe and exhaust already.

Do you guys think high 11 second pass is possible?

I find this to be more fun and challenging than buying the usual parts where I know what the results are going to be.

This will be interesting. I'd like to see you break 11's and I'm sure you will. I had a buddy who did a similar style build, except his goal was to use all ebay parts just to see how long they would last, 3 years later and its still running with no failures. lol. Good luck!

Yea, now that I think about it, the list really isn't a poor man's build, since they are all pretty legitimate parts.. A poor man's build would be self made parts and ebay stuff.

Well bargain hunter. I wanted to buy an ebay fmic but after reading buschurs post on how all intercoolers arent equal and why they arent kind of made me just want to get a less popular 3".

Greddy, injen and HKS makes some great intercoolers you can get them at good prices on ebay or on this forum since they arent popular choices for intercooler.

Just going to try to build it with a budget and will keep tabs on invoices to see how much it takes to make an evo go fast on a budget.

If you really want to be different and up for a challenge then do your build with purely ebay parts.

I am in the same boat as you. I'd love to use e85 but there isn't a place close enough. Hopefully one will pop up soon!
