salvage title autox

Looking into running a salvage title evo for local autocross events. I've done some research and asking around, seems that i could get a evo 8 for around $10k with repairs included.

Any thoughts, past experiences, suggestions? Avoiding frame damage necessary?

How bad was the damage? Milage and mods? Imo 10k is a lot

Include some photos if you could

As long as its structurally sound and not falling apart, I don't think it would be a problem.

Check Frame rails, as-well as tie rods etc.. important suspension parts. Find out what kind of accident caused it to become a salvage title and go from there, you should be fine.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I don't have anything specific picked out yet.

I consulted with a body specialist and he gave me a rough estimate of $10k. Now he would take care of everything himself, including picking out the car. He also offers a 1 year warranty on all mechanical failures.

Wait so let me get this straight, you have a local bodyshop that will pickup a wreaked evo for you and rebuild for $10k and still offer a 1 year mechanical failure warranty?
