Rebuilt\Salvage Titles

Alright so around me, there are a lot of people that are selling their EVO's that have rebuilt titles and salvage titles and they are on the road. some of them are dealers. if i could get an EVO with 30k miles for $15,000 with a rebuilt title...is it worth it?

I would say it is not worth it. Most of the Evo's I've seen in my area are going for around that price used almost in stock condition and not too many more K miles than 30 thousand.

15k is way too much for an 03 with a salvage title. You definitely won't get an evo 9 with 30k miles for 15k but I would just keep looking personally. I would never spend that much or settle for a car with a salvaged title. By the way that 03 evo is not a SE. It's just a regular gsr.

Nope don't. Evo's are fast cars so it has been most likely hit bad. Besides I'd rather get something with more miles knowing it won't out on me when I'm on the road, and you don't know how well it was rebuilt.

I've bought a wicked white evo with 109k for 9k. Almost stock. They provided the pics of the accident. Left fender was a total buss. And left rear was hit just a little. I took the car to my working place and looked at the crash bar, frame, etc. and it was untouched. Just seemed thst insurance didn't want to pay to fix, and respray everything. Just make sure you look at the structure of the car. If you can

Bought a salvaged 08 GSR for $8300 65k with about $4000 in repairs. Doing the repairs myself except body shop fixing the frame damage. Make sure you know what the damage was and who repaired it.

Keep in mind if you want to finance or if you sell it and the buyer wants to finance most banks wont give a loan for a salvage or restored title. Honestly your better off waiting and finding a clean title evo. They are out there and your better off with a higher mileage clean title. Saves you the headache of financing, resale and especially what the prior owner did to the car.

If you plan on not selling the car later on or turning it into a dedicated track car then why not? Most of the time people care about the status of the title when it comes to resale value and that's it. Obviously frame damage is important and should be looked at before buying but if you don't plan on selling it or want to hack it up for track purposes then I don't see any harm.

I'm curious about it being an 03 without a sunroof though. I'm not 100% but I always thought all 03's were GSR and came with sunroof. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
