The mileage limitations do not apply to cars that are made legal. I believe they only apply to automobiles imported as collector's cars and granted semi-legality.

Motorex will not tell you what it takes to make a Skyline US legal either. It is a trade secret. They put a lot of time and effort into making it happen. So that is just business.
Two months to make the first cars US legal is not that bad. Their are a lot of government imposed hoops to jump through and several are really stupid. If it was easy the US would be full of STIs, Skylines and Evos.

MOTOREX secret
I heard that in order to completely legalize a never before imported car...you have to do TWO things....One is pass the legal limit for emissions in US. And second you have to pass the collision safety test standard. Which means you actually have to basically waste a few cars on a crash test. Very Very expensive ordeal for the private owner. Not that expensive for the a large auto maker company. With front mounted intercooler it's very hard to pass the front collision test. Scoobys had no problem, cause of their place of the intercooler on the WRX. But Mitsu didn't know if it wanted to invest the time, R&D money for a car that very few propective buyers could afford to buy. Motorex saw chance to make some money but had dish out alot first for the intial cars(testing).... that's why their prices for GTR and such are outrageous. Nissan went the other route...the NEW Skyline and the New Z are both non-turbos! So no safety standard headaches for them.

When I talked to Adam, I believe he commented and said somethign about having to buy a certain licesense of some sort thats how he actually got the car in, but who knows, there are the all famous loop-holes that can get anything in. Come on if OJ was found inocent, anything can be accomplished, like getting an Evo 7.....my red one is due in approx. 10 weeks!

If we had them, we would be driving them and not posting snigh remarks about getting them
We are being told anyday now........when asked "any day this week", "any day this month", we where just told "anyday".
If I new it was going to take this long, I would have waited. Meanwhile, I guess we'll just have to wait and . Who knows, maybe the US E8 will be here before we get ours.
