I want to go wingless but...

I dont want to fill in the holes on my trunk lid. Will a trunk lid from a similar year regular lancer fit my evo?

You could also buy vinyl that matches the color of your car and cut them into little circles to place over the holes. That's what I do.

I concur!

I have a black one on my black evo that I got from a junkyard. The thing was flawless... fits like stock and looks exactly like the evo one, just sans wing.

Should be the same silver,

Also a note. you might have to change the springs for the trunk release as its gonna pop really fast without the wing

I think it's a different shade of silver, but maybe someone else can confirm. Not many of the "same" colors are 100% identical.

RS decklids are real cheap too if you'd rather have new. They need to be painted though :/

Yeah, they will fit just fine. Not much to do other than to swap the bars, or whatever they're called. But if you don't want to do that (or if you don't feel like spending the money or hunting down the extra hardware), you don't HAVE to do it. Just make sure you only open the trunk with your key (so you are there to catch the trunk or at least guide it open) so it doesn't just fling open if you pull the latch from the inside.

Did you rule out getting a carbon fiber trunk with a keyhole?

Id like to go carbon fiber but the for price and the fear of a clear coat issue kinda bothers me.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I have one myself (authentic Do-Luck trunk), but it's always a concern in the back of my head.

Also, going with a Lancer (or Evo RS) trunk will guarantee a perfect fit, which isn't always the case with a carbon fiber trunk.
