Also, going with a Lancer (or Evo RS) trunk will guarantee a perfect fit, which isn't always the case with a carbon fiber trunk.
truth! does your do-luck have a keyhole?

Also, didn't think of this until now, is the lancer trunk lid aluminum like the evo or steel and much heavier?

My trunk does have a keyhole -- all of the authentic ones do. The knock-offs don't, but cost a lot less. So you'll pretty much be forced to swap the trunk bars so it doesn't catapult open when you pull the latch.

About the trunk, isn't the Evo's trunk also made of steel? I don't think it's aluminum, since none of the brochures ever said anything about the trunk being aluminum, as I'd assume they'd point it out like they did the hood, fenders and roof (where applicable).

hmmm, I was unaware of this, maybe its not aluminum, the magnet test should answer this question.

The Evo trunk is steel, I'm sure all the guys with rust near their wings can back that up.

Make sure you get the appropriate/corresponding trunk hardware, I've seen some pretty nasty damage on an STi when a guy swapped to a wingless trunk and left his old trunk springs on there. Granted, the STi wing felt a lot heavier to me when I had mine.

When I pull my spoiler, I just fill the holes with rubber plugs. Then nothing is permanent.
