Is it worth it?

Hello i just purchased a 2003 Lancer Es as a replacement car but am pretty happy! But I want to know is it worth modding since it's not an Evo? Moving along, if it is worth modding I hear replacing the lid and getting a cold air intake. Any relatively cheap suggestions? Also whenever I search "lancer lid" I find trunk lids, so should I be searching for something else like air lid?

In my opinion its not worth doing any performance upgrades unless you boost. I've easily doubled my power on my lancer and I'm happy at where its at now. Save your money and dont get the intake.

what are you referring to lid? the hood of the vehicle?

I plan to get a CAI for mine when I get it running again...... Don't expect much power increase from doing minor bolt-ons.... I want a CAI just because I think it looks cool, isn't horribly expensive, and then I can just wash the filter, and not have to buy a new paper one......

Search for the term "hood" it'll probably be easier since I'm assuming you're talking about the one in the front that covers the engine.

As previously said unless you're going to boost the car probably shouldn't expect too much gains out of bolt ons. It'll sound nicer while you're driving but that's probably about it.

If you did every bolt on they make for the lancer and also get a tune. You would only gain 20whp and that's really pushing it. Your best bet would be a turbo setup, you would spend the same amount of money if not less and double your hp.

Light weight crank pulley -rrm or other vendor.
Get spector maf adapter and make an intake for your vehicle the cai for the 4g94 are way to expensive for what you get out of it.
Stage 1 or 2 cam if its dd.
Meth/water injection-snow performance or aem
cat back exhaust....i got ebay one for 110.00 and it sounds great and gave a little hp
