I just filled up with 298 to the tank on CA 91.

Like someone else posted, I average around 280 - 310 a tank...keep in mind I fill up after the gas light has come on...but only fill between 12 - 13 gallons...usually.

My best is 340 although my low fuel light usually comes on around 250-275.

I've filled up a couple times for a hair over 14 gallons

It ain't brain surgery guys.

Instructions

1 Fill up your vehicle's gas tank with fuel and note the miles on the odometer (or set the trip meter to zero).
2 Drive your car as you normally do until the fuel level is at or below one quarter tank.
3 Refuel your vehicle, this time noting both the odometer reading (or trip meter) and the gallons of fuel needed to fill the tank.
4 Subtract the beginning mileage from the ending mileage; this is your total mileage per tank.
5 Divide your total mileage by the gallons of fuel needed to fill the tank. This is your gas mileage.
Example: 350 miles driven divided by 10.6 gallons equals 33.02; rounded off equals 33 miles per gallon.

You guys must be going into boost every time you accelerate. I think the ct9a evos at least are one of the most fuel efficient turbocharged performance car I know of. If I got 285 on the highway I'd check if the handbrake was up.

Inner-city driving avg in the summer is 280-290 for me. And highway avg on road trips is 330. Most I got was 357. I don't really drive like a prude either, at least as fast if not faster than most surrounding traffic. All on 94 octane gas and with a fill-up coming in at 12.8 to 13.1 gallons.

I had similar gas mileage when I had my 6spd. But I blew that aisin built crap up and now I have a 5spd with a 4.11 fd gear. The 5spd is significantly lighter than the 6spd, which always helps economy.

My longest tank of gas was just over 400 miles on a drive from San Diego to Seattle back in Apr 2011. I made it from the northern line of CA to WA on one tank. Average for that tank was 30.x mpg. I was so happy that I did not need to fill up in stupid -cannot pump your own gas- Oregon.

Dec 2012 I drove 3000 miles across country [WA to VA] and averaged 28.27 mpg for the entire trip. Best tank of 33.6 mpg and a worst tank of 24.9 mpg [a lot of head wind an going up more than going down].

ok I swear you guys are ****ing with me.

Even on my blue evo the best mpg I managed on 93 was 250 and on E85 it was 210.

ON my black Evo the best I've managed on 93 was 240 and on E I haven't had a change to run through a full tank but so far I'm at 67 miles and I've burned through a quarter tank. I'm thinking I'm lucky if I get 180 out of it.

I have been driving like a civilian for the most part. I get into boost a little bit but we are talking 20psi max (I max out at 40 psi).

What do you always turn off the car and cost downhills? Is the wind always at your back when you are driving? It is hurricane season.

What gives? I haven't had the car back long enough to say for certain but I feel like my fuel economy is terrible. And I drive my car very pedestrian.

I was trying to hold speed as steady possible. Try going 60 mph on the highway and see what that does for you.

x2.

I don't understand how some people with modified Evos are getting 300+ miles to a tank. Or averaging over 30mpg - there's got to be a different calculation some people are using.

You are using too much throttle I'd think.

Remember, RPM doesn't determine fuel economy (not significantly, anyways), LOAD does.

Example: You use far less fuel in 3rd gear using 20% throttle than you would if you were in 4th gear at the same speed using 50% throttle. The more you push down the pedal, the more fuel is injected. So use your gearing to your advantage, and let off the gas when you see a red light up ahead.

Personal bests: 300 on a tank of E85, 383 on a tank of 91.
