What can I use to properly clean my Perrin intake air filter?

I apologize if this comes off as a "noob" type question, but I am wondering how I can go about cleaning my air filter? I've read soap & water and let it air dry, but also know that they make oils that you are supposed to use to clean the air filter.

The air intake I have is on the end of a Perrin Intake, I'd just like to do this properly without any hiccups or missteps along the way.

Thank you guys soo kindly in advance, this forum is always soo soo supportive of fellow commuity members!

I picked up Uni cleaner and oil at Cycle Gear. Most motorcycle shops should sell this product.

I use this to clean my WORKS drop in filter.

It's a combustible aerosol spray - pretty tough to ship those things now.

^THIS ....Like I previously said... I use this. Works great. Go easy on the oil. You can buy it at a motorcycle shop. I bought mine at a place called Cycle Gear. Check out your local motorcycle shop for this product.

Make sure you are in a well ventilated area. I did it on my back porch and the fumes still seeped into the house. (I know what you're thinking, give me a break it was build in the 20's). The wife was not amused. When they say that may cause cancer, I believe it.
