Stronger "Regular" Size Battery

Do you guys have any suggestions for a much stronger than stock battery? I've only been driving my evo ~once per month, and due to having a security system hooked up I need to jump start the battery every time I start the car. I haven't driven my car since I've needed to pull my rear diff (5/19) but I tried to start it the other day to get the fluids going a little, and of course it's dead...

Suggestions? Any stock-sized replacements with incredible life? I have to imagine there's something, given all the small batteries with decent life out there

Hook it up to a battery trickle charger/battery tender while garaged to avoid having to jump it once a month. Dont waste your $$ on a battery when you dont have to.

It'll start every time.

Or disconnect battery if safely garaged at home.

yup battery tender. i got the junior for cheap at autozone. it takes a long time if the car is dead as it is less amps than the full up tender, but if its semi juiced and you plug it in an hour before you wanna drive, or just leave it on all the time it works like a charm.

I got the diehard platinum agm battery. it is the same as an oddessy agm. it was 200 bucks, but was completely worth it. the stock battery lasted 8 years, but was starting to slow start in the cold. I did a lot of research before getting this battery. stock size and fits like a champ. I have heard good and bad about optima, but they may still be ok.

There is a solar powered battery maintainer that you can buy at harbor freight. Ive used it with great success on work trucks that rarely get driven. Plugs into the cigarette lighter and goes up in the windshield.

I would suggest this over swapping batteries

Heres a link:

Agreed. My car has set for weeks at a time and more than a month when I was in Africa. Car starts up every time without issue. The battery had outlasted my new starter that was put in about 2 years ago lol

mega bump for this - thanks for the tips. Optima Red Top it is, when the time comes. Wish small batteries could pack the power full size batteries can

(capacity, not reserve)

on the speed channel they came out with a new type of battery not necessarily stronger but made of I think it was made out of aluminum versus lead, the battery is extremely light, and the conductivity is extremely reliable, longer lasting, and almost corrosive resistant

I was always a fan of the Costco or Sears Diehard Platinum.

If your battery has been dead before when you charge it , it will only be 85% of what it used to be. So, if you it died a few times its toast.
If you get an optima, it needs a special charger to support an AGM battery.
