I got a evo and it currently doesnt start. It cranks but wont start. I checked and my fuel pump isnt priming but I have have power to the wire and also gets no spark but the wire to the coilpacks reads 11.9 volts. Also my CEL doesnt come on and go away when i put the key on the on position. My last guess would be the crankshaft position sensor but would rather have someone who knows or had similar problem before I take it apart. thanks

A few things...

1. What mods does the car have.
2. You say you aren't getting spark, but you're saying your coil wire(?) is getting current?
3. There was a thread a few days (maybe a week or two) back that discussed the CEL not coming on when the ignition is turned to on. I'd suggest starting with that thread... I'll see if I can dig it up.

Do you have access to a scan tool? I'd be interested know if you can communicate with the ECM. Sounds to me like all of the issues you have described so far are definitely related. Could be a bad puter. Need more info if you can provide any.

 

Tryed hooking up scanner today wouldnt communicate and when I gave my fuel pump 12v it kicked in
