Purchase without seeing
Purchase without seeing
The dilemma I am faced with. I live I the state of Florida lowest part Miami and to find and evo 9 is pretty dang hard. So the question/input I'm askin is if anyone has ever bought an evo from a dealer/private party without first seeing it? Although carfax may be clean and car could be stock low miles(which is what I'm looking for) any other scenarios can you think that would encourage/discourage a decision to be made

I'd never buy a car without going to see it. Take a day to find something within reasonable travel. Work with dealerships if you have to, Though it might be more expensive. These cars get beat on from the second they leave the show room. You gotta feel the car and avoid getting scammed. It's a rough economy
I buy cars sight unseen all the time. The price has to reflect it though. I never pay top dollar on cars I can't see/drive in person. Typically wholesale or wholesale +10% etc depending on condition. It's always a gamble, but you can't win if you don't play.
I bought a one way plane ticket to go check out an Evo I wanted to buy. Turns out it was in good condition so I drove the rest of the way back.
You could always find one you like and hop into a regional forum on here and see if someone in that region could test drive it for you. send them some paypal money etc for their troubles.
Just a thought.

I bought mine from ebay and it is mint! For me it was an import, this being Canada. I did get the seller to make a very thorough walkaround video before to check out the car and make sure he wasn't sketchy. Pictures are easier to fake. So maybe luck was on my side but I scored a great deal.
Several options.
1. Have the car looked over by a reputed evo shop and have them tell you what they think (my preferred option).
2. Have a friend/relative you trust who is closer have a look at it for you.
3. Ask if a forum member is willing to help you out and have a look for you.
