I have a ticking noise coming from somewhere around the driver side close to the firewall and ideas what it could be!? its a 2005 evo 8

 

You're going to have to be a bit more specific m8. Alot of these Evo's are coming with internal combustion engines now a days. Haha... jk.

Give us more info. Only thing there is the gear shift linkage, and the brake master cylinder.

 

Kind of hard to diagnose like said, you have to be extremely specific and detailed, specially over the internet for one to help diag the problem.
For example, I have a ticking noise that happens every so often near the same location but it's just the wires from my gauges smacking along the body, I'm sure that's not what you're experiencing though.

 

have you recently installed grimmspeed 3 port ?

 

Well it only happens sometimes and only when it's over like 2300 rpm it started doing it right after my tune the ticking stays the same through out and I put my hand on the battery tray and I could feel the ticking.

 

And yes my tuner installed the grimspeed 3 port!!!

The Grimmspeed ticks... That should be it... You could try to fit a flat piece of rubber under it...
