What should I do? HELPFUL Advice.
I just got my 2nd evo not too long ago and unfortunately it is nothing like my first. Meaning my first evo was RELIABLE AND NEVER had an issue.
Well, this evo seems to be one problem after the next and it isn't problems that allow me to enjoy it until it's ready to be fixed.
First was the clutch line hairline crack, losing my clutch during a drive home and limping home.
Next limping home because my alternator went out during a spirited drive.
Well, I am in process of replacing my alternator but I am about to go on vacation to Disney World so the evo is on the back burner. I don't know if I want to finish up the alternator and get it up and running or do I just want to slow it down and do a major overhaul.
I just got a promotion where my evo is basically Paid by my company. So a lot of extra cash to play with and I have had plans to mess around with my car. I really wanted to wait until end of summer and enjoy it for now before I make the switch over to a BBK-Full setup during the winter.
I just want to know if you have had this many issues if you just decided to lay back and do an overhaul or fix this issue and hope another issue just doesn't pop up.
Overhaul would probably include EVERYTHING around the motor. New start, alternator, all the sensors, possibly a wiretuck while I'm at it, upgrades to suspension, BBK-Full setup etc. The only problem is it probably won't be a finished product until next year.
Include other side projects:
Suede interior (slate grey)
modify shifter console to house Blitz TT and iPhone
Remember I just got the car and haven't been able to enjoy it so I am in the middle of getting it up or waiting a full year to be happy and enjoy!

Did you get annoyed as both issues came about 1-1.5 months apart. I think I've had my car about 6 months and have put on a total of 700miles so far! That includes the drive home.
Yes it certainly got annoying after a while. I stuck with it though and after a while I was able to enjoy the car (still have some things come up every once in a while, but that's part of the game considering the usage my car sees).

^Thanks Winston. I hope I have the same luck!! That's why I think the overhaul would be great but 1 year wait time is unthinkable! ha. Buy a car only to see it sit in the garage? That must suck!
I understand but really.....you are talking about 2 minor issues. As these cars get older there will be more things breaking on them.
I am not going to get into my story.....I have had the Evo 8 months and only drove it 38 miles before the valves hit the pistons. This prompted a major overhaul and well it really isn't fun. I would fix your alternator and drive it.
