To confirm anything that's been said about the bumpers:
They originally were sold in specific colors, then they were sold in Wicked White only, now they're arriving naked - no primer, no paint. You also have to order the tow hook cover separately.

We get them in limited quantities from Mitsubishi Japan. The typical order time is 2 or more months for an order to arrive.

We sell the bumpers for $700 plus shipping.
We actually just received 2 last month and sold them almost instantly.
We can also get any other special JDM Part (Galant AMG Spoilers, JDM Evo VII Front Bumpers (come in Wicked White), Evo VII Hoods, etc.)

Any special order JDM parts are fully paid up front and non-refundable due to the nature of the orders.

I might kick myself in the butt for this because I also want one and don't have the extra funds right now but oh well. Just trying to help out some fellow EvoMer's.

That doesn't look primered to me...
Ours come unpainted and unprimered from Mitsu.

If that's indeed primered, it's an older one.

It says primered but you're right, it doesn't look like it. These are the ones from that place in Cherry Hill, New Jersey that one guy had mentioned. Not trying to take business away from you. Just trying to help out the community.

I just want the best OEM look bumper for the best cost...especially since it looks like I am going to have to paint it one way or another....unless by a miracle of God, another CO evo owner decides to sell his/her OEM white JDM OX rear. ANd I don't want a knock off, or "replica" unless someone can show me their replica how it fits, and how good it looks without spending $2000 bucks.

But I do enjoy the fact that people on here are giving great ideas and acting like a real community of true and freindly people. I appreciate everyones opinons and truth. It has helped making a better decision.

I bought an oem JDM evo 9 bumper last week from the mitsubishi dealership.

Came painted white. Came with rivets and replacement clips. I had to make brakets for the licence plate lights as they mount differenty.

I ordered it on friday and they had it by the next tuesday.

Dont know where mitsubishi australia are getting them from but im happy with it.

Didnt come with the tow hook cover, i need to source one of these.

Luckily for you, the models of Evo you have there are the JDM - that being knowingly established, Australia most assuredly has plenty of backstock of the JDM IX bumper. For anyone in the US, these are new production (not warehoused) bumpers, so we get the fabled "shaft" by getting unpainted.

Actually, for what you end up paying, everybody else always getting the shaft. Bumpers in the US are different because of crash standards - you can always go buy and replace them. And as for the real shafting, remember, the USDM is still the lowest cost market for car & parts buyers. An Evo in Germany is $56k ~ you'd get an S4 here for that

Which is why Germany gets S280s and S350s while ours only start with the S550 ~ same pricing. You can't afford the really good crafts there - which is why you'll see more Golfs than anything else. Ofcourse it becomes difficult for some low volume crafts to be brought over. And then overseas markets have restrictions on tail-lamps having to have yellow turn indicators by law - how'd a Mustang gen5 look with that?

I got one of the last white painted bumpers in April from Russell @ mitsubishiparts.com, together with all of the accessory brackets and the tow hook cover. He told me that the shipment in which mine came had the last of the white painted bumpers, and he was distributing the white painted ones only to people who had a matching white car, since everyone else would have to paint theirs anyway...

The bumper did come shipped in a heavy bubble wrap type bag, but was luckily undamaged, so it turned out fine. I asked them about that and they said the shipping was much less expensive than in a box and they were not having any damage reports.

If you need the accessory parts, including the tow cover, they're a good source for those parts as well. You can find all the OEM Evo 9 rear bumper parts here: http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/catalog/?section=1005

They have been quite communicative with me in the past if there were any questions about loss or damage to any parts ordered. I'd still recommend them for factory OEM parts.

Anybody know where to find the tow hook covers? I have a line on a bumper but it does not come with the cover. looked at mitsubishiparts.net and it states they are no longer available? Kinda pointless to get the bumper if I cant get the cover...

TIA

We can get them. They come in from Mitsu rather sporadically. They're also unpainted from the factory.

Let me know if you still need one.
