Getting custom exhaust made, don't want deep sound

So I'm headed to a shop in a bit to lift up my car and talk about getting a custom exhaust made. The reason I'm getting custom is so I can split the exhaust at the axle into two tips (I know, some may not like this) so it can be more quiet without hurting flow.

My goals are to be a little bit louder than the stock exhaust (which my car is currently) but flow much better. I also want to get the tone right. I generally don't like super deep exhausts and like higher pitched, more "exotic" sounding exhaust. In particular there is a modded BMW I've seen a few times driving around town and it's exhaust is to die for, and it's a little higher pitched and not too loud.

Does anyone know what kind of cat/resonator/muffler setup I should go for to achieve that sound? I'm thinking of doing a straight, cat-less test/mid pipe and putting one resonator on each pipe after the y-pipe split (something like this: http://www.swiftracing.com/SRT/Image...k/catback3.jpg) but I don't like reading that they "deepen the tone".

You won't achieve the same exhaust sound as a BMW or exotic car.

Please don't put a dual exhaust on your Evo

I know I won't achieve it, but it's something I want to be closer to than a super low rumbly sound, which I find ricey.

And why not? It'll achieve what I want it to: more flow, less noise. I don't feel that it's "bad" just because it's not how the Evo is originally, especially since it serves a functional purpose.

Turbos kill the higher pitched sounds and make the car sound like a dump truck.

deep drone i think he means... not like mustang deep... but sitting in a honda and can't talk to the guy next to you at idle deep... sit in my car and you will know... unfortunately i can't change that anymore... the motor is way to heavily modified to control exhaust note...

i'm kinda for the dual tip... i have only seen one bump that would fit it... it was an ebay "jdm" style kit with dual cut outs... long time ago though... only thing i would say is the piping routing will cause issues... and that would stop me...

You could always get a super quiet exhaust, and program a computer to simulate an f1 sound using the speakers in the interior.

i'm not sure about the dual setup, but I like the deep tone of my works exhaust. i'm sure you could modify a flowmaster (like one for an f body Camaro) or something similar, unless you want the dual cannons out the back. lol. good luck and post pics if you do it.

I guess you could in theory have an IP that splits from say, one 3" pipe to two 2 1/2" pipes out to the back. It would be different, and if the pipes were routed close enough together before they split out the back, clearance may not even be much different.
Then you would be able to get into debates with mustang folks about which is better, H pipes or X pipes.
