What material hose for fuel feed/return?
What material hose for fuel feed/return?
Let me start off by saying I do not want to spend a crazy amount on fuel line.
I do not want kevlar line or any stainless line. Looking at pricing looks like
Fragola Performance will most likely be the manufacturer.
I originally planned on synthetic rubber, but now I am curious as to what everyone else thinks. The car will see everyday on the street, possibly a few salt ridden chicagoland winters and occasionally some light track use.
I will be using push-loc fittings.
Now debating between whats left on the Summit website:
(that doesnt cost an arm and a leg)
Braided nylon
Synthetic rubber
Rubber
Braided fiber

Upgrading to a double pumper
I didnt plan on it, I assume they will be pricey
Feed is two (each pump)-6AN then, Y fitting into -8AN.
Return will be -6AN

I know you said you didnt want to use SS braided line but anything you run underneath your car runs the risk being damaged by debri or anything else that travels underneath your car. Sometimes rodents like rats or squirrels like to chew on rubber hoses or any other synthetic, fibrous material. (I know from experience). I know SS is expensive as I ran SS lines from my tank and back on my VR4 and it was $$ but well worth it.
Just my .02

Stainless braided lines are $70 to $80 for -6AN x 20' section at Summit. With connectors front and back, it wouldnt be more than $300 for 3 sets. I wouldnt consider that expensive esp knowing its in a high hp application.
I know people like david bushur stand by the regular rubber lines. The lines being damaged isnt really something I would be afraid of, not like I am driving in a rally race lol.
Anyone else have any information on this?
Really would like to get this stuff ordered and get this car up already

Its 12ft tank to fuel rail... I run stainless steel braided ethanol line from summit... I use the factory feed line as a return with a modified line from the line to rail... It upgrades both for cheap.
I am Going to run Russell Performance ProClassic Black/Blue Hose is alot better and safer and alot easier to work with(My Opinion). You are dealing with fuel and high power fuel pumps. My setup with fuel lines and fitting(Front to Back) cost me around $250 and with the pump almost $1300.
I am Running -8AN Feed and -6AN Return. With my setup i can run any type of fuel or hp level.
I would rather send $1300 for a fuel system setup Done correctly and don't have to ever worrier about it then blow my motor up do to a fuel leak or even worse my car gets on fire.
One thing i know and heard, IS never take short cuts or half a%$ a fuel system setup up because it could cost you alot down the road.
Good Luck

If only I had some of the OE lines thatd be great
Well I figure a double pumper could do the same? lol
Thats why I asked about the line material
Guess I will go stainless. Thanks!

not to mention mcmaster prices are too good.
Only bad thing is they come in 6' lengths so depending on how you make it you might need to connect the 2 hard pipes. I used a union and flare fittings. I would've much rather found an 8'or 10' length to start with so it would be 1 piece.....
You can get the Russell ProClassic I/II hoses in 20' lengths. By going with that, yes, you'll have some leftover for sure, but you will save money by buying it in a bulk quantity and you'll also have enough to route the lines however you want - which can definitely be a good thing if you're a stickler for details.
PM me if you want to get your hands on the bulk quantities of this (or any other hose for that matter.)
