HVAC clip? Help!

Not sure where this belongs.. Long story short, previous owner painted half the interior red and I pulled all the pieces out to paint them black. I took the HVAC and bezel out.

There are two "lines/cords" that hook up to the ac/heat knob and ac/heat position knob.

below I have a diagram of it. the clips are the red arrows. Does anyone have a picture of how they are supposed to be clipped in and placed? I have been trying for hours and just can't figure it out. Hoping someone has a picture.

Imma try to help out on this one I think it goes onto the hard lines that pull the metal lines one for hot and cold check on there it should be behind the consoles and check the hardwire on the HVAC controls too. I think they snap into place on it.
