I think a lot of people like the HKS EVC if you're looking specifically for an EBC, but it's $$$$$.

I just started using the Greddy Profec.

I had the HKS EVC6 and it was uber complicated.

I had an AVC-R EON's ago......not as complicated as the HKS but I found it didn't hold boost uptop as well s I would've liked.

I've tried the Greddy Profec (new one) and I have to say I'm impressed. Comparing it to my Hallman or being on ECU controlled I feel like its just as good and holds boost as well if not better then the Hallman. And for E85 users like myself there is a B setting for high boost.

I just got my 93 lo boost set. Once I switch back to E85 I'll get the hi boost dialed in.

If you are running an AEM, use the AEM solenoid for boost control. Standalones have fantastic on board boost control.

AEM TruBoost is great. It almost operates like a manual boost controller.......BUT. if you need to see over 30 PSI once you add the 75 PSIA sensor it makes it as expensive as the HKS EVC 6. Plus I helped a friend try to dial it in and it was a PITA.

I'm using the old type Perrin 3-Port solenoid,no problems.

But I've heard on here and even my tuner says the Grimspeed 3-Port is the best.

I've used the AVCR in many cars (not Evos) and it's pretty nice since you can do per gear boost control and adjust it in 500rpm increments. All those were cars that did not come factory turbo though.

For my EVO I plan on just getting a Grimmspeed 3-port.

For the record I loved ECU controlled boost but you have to have a tuner that is comfortable with it (if you arent doing it).

I love the AVC-R but it mad complicated when I messed with it.

Those are EBCS' (electronic boost control solenoid), not EBC's (electronic boost controller).

He never specified ebc or ebcs just asked for a boost controller.
CBRD used a Pierburg 3-port on mine. Said its what's used on gt-r's and Porsches and they prefer that over the grimmspeed. It is working great and is plug and play.
ECU controlled seems pretty solid. I didn't have to tune it though.
