Finally got me an AEM Infinity for the Evo
Looks good. I see an improvement in the Infinity with how they placed the rpm breakpoints on the bottom of the surface so now lowest rpm see's lowest load. It's not a big deal, but I prefer it this way.
Is your rpm dip during turning happen at low tps? .... in the V2 there is a cal that could fix that which is an rpm offset vs tps %..... so you could try increasing the idle target based on tps in that region and see if it fixes it.

Can this cold start better than a stock ecu ?:P I am assuming the only reason it needs a custom harness/jumper cable is because it's too now for them to make vehicle specific harnesses yet?

Wonder how Infinity compares to ProEfi 128.
I know most of the Supra and big build guys still prefer it over AEM units. Reliability seems to be a big factor in that decision, as well as the constant free updates and added features.
Speaking of which I'll have my ProEfi 128 for sale soon lol

They now have an infinity 6/8 for like 1400 bucks. It is the same as the 10/12 like I have just a lot less inputs and outputs. Same processor, and awesome everything. It is also only a single connector so it is a lot cleaner.
I had to make my own adapter harness. The infinity will only ever come as a unit with its own connector so that it can remain weather resistant. It was easy enough to put together a jumper harness. Next time I remove the harness from the car I am ditching the adapter harness.
AEM does have some plug and play harness adapter kits already available. Just not for the evo yet.
So if I were in the market for a new standalone, it would be the Infinity 8h. The ecu is every bit as amazing as they say.

^ good work. what cams are u running? and how much spark did u add in the ignition vs idle % if u don't mind sharing?.....lol u can tell I am trying to build mine
It is possible to do that, if you purchase the jumper cable which would be placed between the stock harness and the Aem, then you can tap into its lines without modifying your stock harness. Something I should have thought of before ripping into mine
This way you can swap ecu's whenever you need to giving that all of your sensors (o2, map...etc) are all still on the harness (assume ur on SD) and in the same location. The only downfall I could think of, is if you leave the stock front O2 sensor in the O2 housing then it might be damaged overtime.

I might have to order one of those up to redo mine

Just wanted to post an update.
The early version of the AEM infinity have an issue with the coil drivers. This will make it so your car cannot run a COP setup or a CDI. Now this is only on early versions of the infinity. I had issues with the Spoolinup COP, and so Matt got me his new CDI COP, which still did not work. I tried everything under the sun to get it working, traced back the wires put it on an oscope everything. Finally called AEM today and they let me know that the very early versions of the infinity require a revision to the coil drivers.
So I just wanted to post up this info because the aem forums are down.

The infinity and the proefi are the same style of ecu, they are both airflow based, so you will have close to the same results on both of them.
So my car made 608whp at 21psi on E85, not sure if that counts as high HP, but with that it also starts like a stock evo, and will idle very nicely at 1000rpm. Now where I live in SoCal, it does not get crazy cold so no way for me to test start the car in any weather colder than like 45*. But for me the car is very smooth.
The last thing, the Infinity has really only been out for about 1 year or so. It is not that old which is why you don't see a lot of videos. I will do my best to get more videos up.
Just wanted to post another update about the infinity.
They just released a new update v95.
The other thing I wanted to bring up is my favorite part of the infinity. The USB stick logging. OMFG it is fing amazing. Damn that is the coolest part of the infinity. I just leave my usb stick in and download my logs. It has plenty of space for lots of log data, and can record so damn fast it is not even funny.
Anyhow the infinity has been doing amazing for me.
Ran the evo at the track, and outside of the ignition breakup(stock coils) the car ran amazing. It is crazy how well it maintains the afr. So much better than the Series 1/2 unit.
