Finally got me an AEM Infinity for the Evo

After years of running a Series 1 in the Evo, and a Series 2 in the STI, I have been waiting for the new hotness to come out. Finally they are really super available to the public. So I picked me up one. I am going to do all the flex fuel hotness on this bad boy.

This weekend I will put together the harness for it, so that means the dash comes out yet again . Want to mount this thing all OEM.

Here are the pics.

Here are the 2 flex fuel sensors I have, not sure which one will make it into the car quite yet.

I just started all the flex fuel stuff on the STI. After I have it all figured out I will shoot a video. The series 1 was just getting a little old and I really wanted the flex fuel support. So it was either buy a series 2 or for a bit more cash get the infinity. I do have to build my own harness for it. But that is pretty easy since I removed about half my harness when I stripped the car down.

Yes. My car will be 100% flex fuel. It will change my Startup maps, fuel injector scaling map, ignition map, and boost profiles/target, O2 target maps. All based on the blend of fuel. So it will work from 0% to 100% ethanol.

Also it is VE, so if I change injectors I just update my injector settings and I am good to go. I will not need to retune the whole car.

So far this thing is bad ***. I am not even through the manual yet on it, and it does more **** than I could imagine. I can input all my gauges to it(Fuel Pressure, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp), and you can setup fail safes so if my oil temp get to high, it can turn on a rev limiter, if I loose oil pressure I can do the same. It will also adjust for fuel pressure, so I can adjust my base fuel pressure with out having to tune anything, just crank the knob and go.

Anyhow I will have more updates after I have this thing installed and running.

I am interested in your review as well as I have recently acquired a V2 and was under the impression the software is somewhat similar in terms of their fail safe capabilities...etc
Thx

I've just recently been thinking of getting one. Can you plug back in your OEM ECU for the smog ref? That looks like a jump(er) harness but you said you want to make it look OEM so I wasnt sure.

I figured after a year this guy would have had updates.. I have an Infinity 10 in my procession and made my own quick jumper harness just to get everything running and should be firing the car up in a few days, only reason i dont do it now is i took my turbo manifold off to weld a hairline crank it developed.

to anyone that is curious you can unplug the jumperharness and plug in the stock ecu, pass emissions and put the infinity right back in, albeit some sensor swaps etc.. and 2 pins from the Idle stepper motor.

You will love the infinity. It works amazing. Spend some real time tuning the VE map, and then it is all on point from there.

Here are some videos.

Here is a startup video of mine. Car is cold.

It is possible to do that, if you purchase the jumper cable which would be placed between the stock harness and the Aem, then you can tap into its lines without modifying your stock harness. Something I should have thought of before ripping into mine
This way you can swap ecu's whenever you need to giving that all of your sensors (o2, map...etc) are all still on the harness (assume ur on SD) and in the same location. The only downfall I could think of, is if you leave the stock front O2 sensor in the O2 housing then it might be damaged overtime.

Car still needs some tuning love, but over all it runs pretty damn smooth. The idle will dip really low still, when turning into a driveway. Need to adjust some of the idle settings a bit more for that. The ignition map also needs more work, but for now car is running about 25psi runs pretty strong on e85.
