So im doing a DIY double pump setup on my Evo 8... always wondered about the stock fuel filter and why its where it is...
I cut it off and looked at it and i really think this thing restricts flow a bunch!!!

Just wanted to share the pics of what i found!

The fuel filter is the square piece that connects to the bottom of the fuel pump, not sure what you got there....

That is not on my Evo IX. Plastic sock filter came stock.

 

Didn't know it had 2 fuel filters, then again it's been a long time since I've used a stock fuel system.

 

This is what i cut off my stock sending unit... Yes almost every car has a fuel sock, which should never be used as the primary fuel filter....

This is the non servicable filter. If you want to replace it you have to replace the whole sending unit = stupid
