Thermostat placement on evo 8

Hi everyone

My mate removed my thermostat without remembering which way it went in....

Can anyone tell me which way the little nipple/bleeder thing on the thermostat should be placed.

I know on other cars it should face up to the sky but on the evo 8 it's flat so does the nipple/bleeder face towards the chassis, firewall, engine or towards the guard?

Thanks for your help

Hi,

Yes I am aware of that part LOL.

But theres that little hole with the nipple/bleeder thing on the thermostat.

I am wanting to know which way that faces? or does it not matter in these Evos?

Thanks

On a Subaru this might make a difference, where the thermostat sits sideways.
