Evo IX MR oil drain plug! (the one with the wire)

Hello everyone. So ever since I got my evo, I've noticed that my Oil Temp gauge does not work. So today on my first oil change with the car, I noticed this.

The wire seems to have been ripped/cut. So I went ahead and unplug from the upper cable and put a normal 17mm plug in the place of this one.

Now, does anyone know where I can get one of these plugs with the wire in it to make my gauge work again? I have done some searching and looks like I'm the first with this problem. The closest Mitsubishi dealer near me is about an hour away, so I was wondering if any of the vendors here had them for sale.

Thanks.

Check on STM's site. They have an assload of OEM parts and if it is not there call and they'll get it for you.

Spoke with Brian at STM and unfortunately he also has no idea where I can find it. Going to have to call a few other places and see if I can get lucky.

Spoke with someone at mitsubishiparts.net and they said I would have to buy a whole new gauge setup ($300). So I'm going to have to buy it from some one in here that doesn't use their gauges any more of probably role without the oil temp gauge.

What a crappy part that mitsubishi made.. unreal!

Just an FYI in regards to a totaled part out or something like that. I have also replaced my plug due to the gauge not working and the wire looks perfect on the stock plug so you can't tell visibly that its no good.

^^^ Yeah, I wish this would have been located somewhere else.

I found this on AWDmotorsports, can anyone confirm this is the right part? I tried calling them but they are busy!

Found this in an old thread. Russell used to be a vendor here (Mitsubishiparts.net) but if you search for and in the thread he mentions you may find the part #'s he mentions.

Found the part number for the oil temp gauge.

MZ360086EX. IT'S 200 BUCKS!!!!!

I was hoping for a quick 20 bucks fix. Looks like I'll be rolling with out the temp gauge until I get a new setup.

Can you salvage the existing wire via re soldering?

It's going to be tough since the wire was ripped from inside the bolt. I have no idea how to take that thing apart.
